REBELS BOYS TAKE 2ND PLACE AT NORTHERN REGION SWIM AND DIVE CHAMPIONSHIPS; JOEY KELLY BRINGS HOME 2 TITLES

NORTHERN REGION CHAMPIONSHIPS (BOYS):
The Rebels Swim and Dive team behind 2 Region titles by Joey Kelly and strong relay finishes took 2nd place at the Northern Region Swim and Dive Championships.
The 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Seniors Patrick Johnson, Michael Cosgrove, Tommy Scibilia and Peter Rossbach scored in 12th place. The relay team qualified to compete at the state championships.
In the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, Junior Austin Patteson and Freshman John Kim both swam personal best times, finishing in 17th and 20th places respectively.
In the 200 Individual Medley, Senior Jake Baumgardner swam his season best and state qualifying time of 1:57.11 to finish in 4th place in the Region. Seniors Quinn Giroux and Patrick Johnson also competed finishing in 21st and 22nd place respectively.
In the 50 Freestyle, the Rebels Freestyle tandem of Joey Kelly and Travis Lauri dominated the field. Senior Joey Kelly took the Northern Region Championship in a personal best time of 21.18, qualifying him for All-American Consideration. Junior Travis Lauri followed up with a 3rd place finish in the region in a personal best and state-qualifying time of 21.91.
In the Dive competition, Senior Peter Rossbach scored a personal best 11 dive score of 322.00 to finish in 7th place in the Northern Region. Senior Sam Johnson scored 284.00 points to finish in 14th place.
In the 100 yard Butterfly, Junior Austin Patteson posted a time state qualifying time of 53.03 to finish in 7th place. Senior Tommy Scibilia also competed, finishing in 20th place.
Joey Kelly and Travis Lauri were back at it again in the 100 Freestyle. Joey won his second Northern Region championship of the night in a time of 47.01 and Travis took 5th in a time of 48.82, both qualifying to compete at states.
The Rebels qualified 3 swimmers for Region in the 500 Freestyle. Freshman John Kim was the top finisher in 14th place followed by Seniors Quinn Giroux (21st) and Michael Cosgrove (24th).
The Rebels 200 Freestyle Relay team of Austin Patteson, Travis Lauri, Jake Baumgardner and Joey Kelly brought home the Rebels 3rd Region title. The teams season best time of 1:27.48 qualified the team for All American Consideration.
In the 100 Yard Backstroke, Seniors Patrick Johnson and Jake Baumgardner both scored in personal best and state qualifying times. Patrick finished 7th in a time of 54.15 and Jake finished 11th in a time of 54.57.
Senior Peter Rossbach qualified in the 100 Breaststroke finishing in 20th place.
In the final event of the evening, the Rebels 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team of (Austin Patteson, Travis Lauri, Jake Baumgardner and Joey Kelly) finished in 3rd place scoring a season best and state qualifying time of 3:12.71 also qualifying for All Amerian Consideration.
The Rebels head to Virginia Beach to challenge for the Virginia State Swim and Dive Championship.
